David Weusten draws on his 21 years of banking experience (ANZ Bank) in New Zealand and internationally and 13 years as an independent provider of financial advice.
Since 1995, when he returned to New Zealand, David has been a Relationship Manager based in Christchurch, Small Business Manager, Specialist Franchise Manager and Business Development Manager covering the South Island.
David left the ANZ in November 2000 and set up Financial Service Providers in Christchurch.
Since then he has had articles published in the Sunday Star Times, The Press and Business Monthly to name a few. He has written a business guide “What do banks want? So you can get what you want”and this has proved popular with sales achieved all over the country. Late in 2002 FSP published his second business guide “Owning your own business, an overview of what to consider”, and this was updated and reprinted in 2010.
In mid 2006 David wrote his latest book "Money Your Master, Your Slave, Your Choice! an e-version is available under publications. This is targeted at teenagers and young adults as an introduction to money management, investing and budgeting.
Since the time he set up FSP they have had in excess of $188 million approved for their clients and during his time in the finance industry David has been involved with lending approvals in excess of $210 million.
David is a member of the Avonhead Baptist Church, New Zealand Mortgage Brokers Association, Allied Kiwi (now under PAA), Business Network International and Rugby Southland Supporters Club Inc
